Caldonazzo, Youth National Final held from 9 to 10 of September 2023

The third audit for the Italian Federation took place during the Youth National Final held from 9 to 10 of September 2023 in Caldonazzo, Italy.

Caldonazzo is located in Valsugana, in northern Italy, 20 kilometres from Trento, in the heart of Trentino.

1000 athletes took part in the races organised by Italian Canoe and Kayak Federation (FICK) and Caldonazzo Canoa Club located in Lido di Caldonazzo Resort which manages the area where competition takes place.

The event was split in two parts; the agonistic competitions and the amateur races. The first part of the event was focused on 200 and 2000-meter races; the amateur race took place on the “Ability Triangle”, a circuit with buoys involving students of “Adotta una Scuola 2023” a project promoted by the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation and Sport e Salute national agency.

During The Caldonazzo event, the first “Life Cycle Assessment” for DECK project was led in order to evaluate the general environmental impact of the event.  Hundreds of people, staff, athletes and spectators were involved in the environmental monitoring process through interviews and online surveys on the environmental aspects of the event.
