The first on-site visit of the DECK project in Slovenia took place during the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup 2023, held at Tacen Whitewater Centre (Kajak Kanu Klub Tacen) in Tacen, close to Ljubljana, from June 15th to 18th, 2023.

The competition was organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF), the Canoe Federation of Slovenia (KZS), and the Organising Committee SLOKA 2023, which includes members of the Slovenian Ministry of Defense (assuring public security services), the municipality of Ljubljana, and members of the two main local canoe clubs of Ljubljana.
